Yichang is a city in Hubei Province. The population of Yichang is around 4 million. However, the city itself contains an estimated 1 and a half million, with over half the population in the outside areas.

You might end up in this city only as a starting point for the Three Gorges river trip on the Yangzi. There is a speedboat going to Chonqing (takes 9 hours) or a slow boat (taking 2 nights and 3 days). If you just want to see the Gorges, the speedboat is ok. Valentino M.More Yichang Tips  GeckoGo
