Whakatane Hotels

Whakatane is a coastal town in the eastern Bay of Plenty on New Zealand's North Island. It is one of the sunniest towns in New Zealand. Air New Zealand has five direct daily flights to Whakatane, four from Auckland and one from Wellington with a flight time of 45 minutes.

Great for those who hate waiting at traffic lights - there are none! This has got to be one of my favourite places in NZ, and it is close to many beautoful beaches, such as Ohope, and cities like Tauranga. Ideal for a family holiday, or just to unwind alone. Dani T.

Whakatane is in the center of the Bay of Plenty region and renown for its sunshine, excellent beaches, many surrounding orchards ( fresh fruit and veges are easy to come by) and the charter fishing fleet.
