Wells is the smallest city in England, with a population of around 10,000. It is in Somerset in the South West of the country. The city is dominated by the magnificent Gothic cathedral and is famous for its remarkably intact ecclesiastical quarter.

The smallest city in England. Great Cathedral, Bishops palace. A nice (if small) high street with some good pubs and shops in the market square. It's good fun trying to work out where all the different scenes from Hot Fuzz were filmed as well... Russell S.
The center of this Somerset city (though it has a small population) is dominated by the cathedral and the bishops palace. Wells is a city because it has a cathedral. The Bishop of Bath and Wells rules is Bath but resides at Wells which says something for Wells. The Tookey caves are located in the … Anthony M.
