If you go to Uyuni you go there to see the saltflats. There is nothing else to do there. Try to arrive there at night or in the early morning. One of the highlights of Bolivia : the Salar of Uyuni ! A tip : start the excursion from Tupiza to Uyuni instead of doing the opposite, you will sometimes cross other tourist 4*4 but at least you won't find yourself in a line of ten 4*4 cars following each other ! Lise G.

The salt flats are amazing here, make sure you go with a good company though! Bring a hot water bottle and warm clothes as it is seriously cold at night. Sun glasses too and sun cream of course. Aine H.

The bus from Oruro to Uyuni was HELL haha I don't want to offend anybody- Bolivia is one of my favourite countries, but I would have paid more for a bus with a toilet, in retrospect. 5 hours of agony and it was freezing to death. "Salar de Uyuni" was for me a once in a lifetime experience, the most beautifull "out of this world" landscapes combined with the amazing "SALAR" or salt flats...
