Trieste is a city in North-East Italy. Once a very influential and powerful centre of politics, literature, music, art and culture under Austrian-Hungarian dominion, its importance fell into decline towards the end of the 20th century, and today, Trieste is often forgotten as tourists head off to the big Italian cities like Rome and Milan. Look for accommodation in Muggia, or try finding hotels in Ankaran, 8 km to the south, Sezana, 10 km to the north, San Dorligo della Valle, 6 km to the south, or Villa Opicina, 6 km to the north.

When u live in Croatia, then if u hear name of the city Trieste, u know u r about to talk about shopping. Town with history but many shopping parts, where everybody around comes to buy good Italian stuff! Lee S.
