Sosua is located in the Puerto Plata province of the Dominican Republic. German Jews settled this little pueblo in the early 1940s. Many streets are named for Ashkenazic Jews. Although not renown as a diving/snorkelling area. Sosua beach is a fantastic place to swin and snorkel with loads of exotic fish. Pick your spot on the beach and do your best to avoid the sunlounger and restaurant touts, a particular problem at Sosua. Andy G.
