Skardu is a district in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. Skardu district is consists of 5 tehsils: Skardu, Gama Skardu, Shigar, Rondu and Kharmang. The population of Skardu is about 500 000 in 1998. Now, it might be 700 000-800 000 as because of the peaceful enveronment, people are migrating to Skardu.
