Silver Spring is the largest inner suburb of Washington, D.C. on the Maryland side. Silver Spring attracts a racially diverse mix of middle-class suburbanites and local immigrant communities to its newly renovated downtown. Look for accommodation in Silver Spring, or try finding hotels in Takoma Park, Bethesda, 4 miles to the southwest, or College Park, 5 miles to the southeast.

Silver Spring's what I'd like to consider the gateway to Washington DC if you're going through Georgia Avenue, coming from Maryland. Slow down as you pass Georgia ave and 14th street - there you'll find yourself in my childhood :) Dj Yagga
