Siena Hotels

Siena is a medieval city in the region of Tuscany, located in the north of Italy some 70 km south of Florence. It is probably best known for a colourful horse race, Il Palio, conducted twice each year in the summer. Look for accommodation in Siena, or try finding hotels in Monteriggioni, 12 km to the northwest, Costalpino, or Sovicille, 9 km to the southwest.

Siena Travel Tips

Loads of hills, great to cycle down not so great to cycle up. Everything is closed on a Sunday so choose a weekday to go Denise C.
I accidentally got caught up in the horse shinannigans...great photo opportunities and the biggest parking ticket every received while travelling. If you're familiar with painting, the colour Burnt Sienna gets it's name from the colour of the surrounding countryside in Summer... Jacqui W.
