Side Hotels
Side is a resort town and a classical historic site in Pamphylia of Mediterranean Turkey. Upon opening to tourism in 1950s, the village of Selimiye was renamed Side, as the Roman city on the site of the village was known in ancient times. Look for accommodation in Side, or try finding hotels in Manavgat, 5 km to the northeast, or Colakli, 10 km to the northwest.

Side has some great Roman ruins, most of them just out there for you to ogle and photograph for free. The Roman theater costs a little bit to get into (but far less than any ruins in Rome!) and is very impressive. I can't decide whether the shops that sell Turkish Delight are attractions or not … Dan B.
