Within Seattle

Pioneer Square-International District

Pioneer Square is Seattle's oldest neighborhood, showcasing a wealth of art galleries, bookstores, antique shops, cool restaurants, and buzzing nightclubs within easy walking distance of most downtown Seattle hotels.

Queen Anne-South Lake Union

Queen Anne and Seattle Center are northwest of Downtown Seattle. This article also incorporates the neighborhoods of South Lake …

Ballard

Ballard is a neighborhood in northwest Seattle. While mostly residential, the locks are a major tourist attraction.

Fremont

Seattle's Fremont district, which bills itself as "The Center of the Universe", is known for its quirky atmosphere.

West

West Seattle is the most populous district of Seattle. Separated from the remainder of the city by the Duwamish River, much of it has a decidedly suburban character, and certainly sees far less tourist traffic than the downtown area.

Sodo-Georgetown

Sodo originally "South of the Dome", referring to the now-demolished Kingdome; to keep some sense in the name, it is sometimes explained now as "South of Downtown".

North

North Seattle is a loosely-defined area, often including anywhere north of the Ship Canal that bisects the city.

South

South Seattle occupies a broad swath of the city between I-5 to the west and Lake Washington to the east.

Seattle Travel Tips

Great city, many fun attraction, good shopping, nice friendly people. Attractions: boeing factory, space needle, eastern washington wineries. best western underneath the space needle good / central hotel. pike market, indian art.it can be rainy Marijke N.
Starbucks Coffee, Seattle's needle + the park near the place. You shouldnt rent cars there cause parking is expansive/problemative. Visit Seattle's aquarium, take the ferry to nearby islands like Bainbridge. Eli G.
One of my favorite cities. There is Pike Place Market, where you can buy produce, souvenirs, food, etc. There is also Downtown Seattle which is pretty nice, too. Krystal L.
