Rishikesh Hotels
Rishikesh is a small town in the northern state of Uttarakhand in India. Scenically located where the Ganges River comes down from the Himalayas, Rishikesh catapulted to Western fame when the Beatles dropped by for a visit to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's ashram, and the town is still known as the World Capital of Yoga. Look for accommodation in Rishikesh, or try finding hotels in Haridwar, 14 km to the south.

There's a beautiful Hindi ceremony held every evening at the banks of the Ganga river in Ram Julah. Make sure you come early as it is very popular. Ori K.
I went white-water rafting here about 3-4 times... The water's kinda cold though as it comes from molten snow in the Himalayas... Koen V.
They don't serve liquer openly in rishikesh and when they do it's massively overpriced. Save some money and find the beer store (known locally as "english wine shops") about 15 km outside of town on Haridwar road.
