Rethimno is a beautiful city on the island of Crete in Greece. It has picturesque small lanes of shops selling mostly tourist goods and a newer area of town with normal shops. Look for accommodation in Rethymnon, or try finding hotels in Platanias, 6 km to the west, or Gerani, 5 km to the east.

A huge long beach and an extensive old town area make this a great place to holiday in Crete. If you book a hotel or appartment, just check how far it is from the town, the beach is that long, you could be as much as a half hour walk away. Andy G.
