Nalhati is a town, in Birbhum-Murshidabad of West Bengal. Nalhati is one among the 51 Shakti Peeths. It is believed that Parvati's throat fell here, when Vishnu severed her body, with chakra, to stop Shiva from the Tandav nritya.
