Margate is a town in Kent and sister town to Ramsgate. Margate is on the whole a rather depressing mixture of fading Georgian and Victorian seaside grandeur and squalid 'bedsit-land' although there are some pleasant residential suburbs. Look for accommodation in Margate, or try finding hotels in Broadstairs, 3 miles to the southeast, Ramsgate, 4 miles to the south, or Birchington, 3 miles to the west.
