Magelang is a city in Central Java. You can go to Magelang city by Plane or train, but Yogyakarta, 36 kilometres away, is the nearest city that has an airport and train station.

If you're staying here, it's because you're going to Borobudor no doubt. Only two hotels allow you into Borobudor to see the sunrise, before it opens to the public: Amanjiwo ($700+ per night, and possibly one of the world's most awesome hotels) and Manohara ($50-$75 per night, and very basic).
