Macquarie Island or Macca as it is affectionately known, is a Sub-Antarctic island in the Southern Ocean. The island is administered by Australia. Macquarie Island is home to a large variety of wildlife, including thousands of seals and millions of penguins, and has been designated a World Heritage site.
