Coloane was the southern-most island in China's Special Adminstrative Region of Macau. It used to be separated from Taipa to the north but the two are now joined by the Cotai Strip to form one huge island.

Macau: Coloane Travel Tips

While many guidebooks mention "Fernando's" it is genuinely worth it for the chicken and the atmosphere. Go to the Westin and then walk down the pleasant, crescent shaped beach to the beach shack that is Fernando's. Michael M.
Coloane is best visited in the summer when you can enjoy the beaches. In winter you will probably prefer to stay closer to the heart of Macao where you have easier access to the city and its attractions. Dorrit L.
