Kitulgala, on Kelaniya river, is a great place to stay if you are looking for nature & adventure like white water rafting. This is where Bridge over the River Kwai was filmed.

I stayed at the River resot which was amazing. you get to watch the river run past as your in the pool or hanging out in the lounge. The white water rafting is only a few minutes away and the scenery on the way down was mind-blowing.
