You can also take the train from Portland to Bingen, Washington just across the river. Best place to eat in Hood River: The Trillium Inn. Natural yet yummy foods that fill you up just enough so that you have room for ice cream afterwards. The best day to go to downtown Hood River is on Sunday (or a holiday) when the parking's free. Lots of hills so bring walking shoes. I've never … Liz H.
