Haast is a small collection of communities, Haast Junction, Haast township and Haast Beach, on the West Coast of New Zealand's South Island. It is located on the edge of Mount Aspiring National Park, part of the UNESCO's Southwest New Zealand World Heritage Area.

Haast Travel Tips

Beautiful scenery. I suggest you take a short walk or for the more fit, do one of the many tramps or walks Sharyn J.
There is not much to say about Haast - some Motels and nothing more. But about 20-30km in the north there is Lake Moeraki. Take a walk through the Rainforest to Monroe Beach. I think it is the most beautiful Forest I have ever seen!!! Antun H.
