Coldfoot Hotels

Coldfoot is a small, albeit important, stop along the Dalton Highway in Arctic Alaska. The town's name supposedly comes from a group of gold seekers who, in 1900, trekked up the Koyukuk River and got "cold feet"-returning south from Slate Creek, the original name of this settlement, rather than spending the winter here.

Coldfoot Travel Tips

A small town that has grown much over the last 15 years. Mainly a truck stop along the Dalton Highway. Be sure to eat at the diner as the prices are cheap, and the servings are huge and good eating. Stredicke
