Ballyragget is a town in north County Kilkenny. It has a population of 1,450. The town is beside the river Nore. It is named after Richard Le Ragget, a Norman who owned the land around the town in the 13th century.

Ballyragget Travel Tips

About 4 km from Foulksrath Castle, the oldest hostel in Ireland and a really cool place to stay. Driving is easiest to get there, but my friend and I walked from the castle -- if you do that, just watch out as there are no shoulders on the road!
