Ao Nang is the busiest beach destination in Thailand's Krabi Province. Formally Ao Phra Nang although everybody uses the short form, Ao Nang is the most 'Westernized' beach in Krabi, originally a backpacker hotspot but now moving slowly upmarket as the airport brings in higher flyers. the islands off krabi are some of my favorite spots in this world. ko lanta, railey beach etc, the best for diving, relaxing, rock climbing. and i love the food, the people are super friendly, its almost too good to be true! Fredy Z.

For laid back, hippish lifestyle, head to Tonsai beach. From Krabi/Ao Nang - take the longtail boat. Accommodation is cheaper here than on mainland or on Railey East/West.
