Annur is a city in Tamilnadu, India about 32 km from Coimbatore. The name Annur came from "Vanniyur", later transformed into Anniyur and now Annur. The myth behind the name goes like, Above 1000 years ago, when a small hunter hit a stone under a "Vanni" tree, it started bleeding.
