Ürgüp is a town in the Cappadocia region of Turkey. With many cave hotels and restaurants, Ürgüp is a useful base for exploring Cappadocia. Bus services from all over Turkey arrive at Ürgüp, as well as Nevşehir, the regional capital, and the nearby towns of Avanos, Göreme, Uçhisar, and Ortahisar. Look for accommodation in Urgup, or try finding hotels in Goreme, 8 km to the north, Mustafapasa, 6 km to the south, or Uchisar, 9 km to the west.

Ürgüp Travel Tips

Everyone must see Cappadocia if in Turkey. It is unlike anything I have yet to see on this Earth, an entirely surreal vista Jenna M.
Be sure to take a side trip to Avenos, the pottery town. In addition to being a more mellow, less touristy place, there are many pottery shops with all kinds of pottery works, including replica Hittite jars of tears used to gather tears for the dead (so they say). Also, don't miss the Hair Museum … Drew M.
